SET Office Supplies
"We at SET are delighted to be announced as the first welsh company to be successful in their bid to supply public bodies throughout south Wales with their office stationery needs. The Value Wales contract will guarantee our continued growth and will ensure additional recruitment of personnel in south Wales, which in return will help stimulate the welsh economy. In addition to this, our increased buying power will allow us to be even more competitive in the commercial market place. Everyone's a winner" Neil Griffiths, Managing Director, S.E.T.
SET Office Supplies have been trading for almost thirty years and were established in Cardiff in 1974. They currently employ over 150 people with offices in Cardiff, Swansea, Haverfordwest and Bristol.
SET were successfully awarded onto the Stationery and Business Machines Framework which commenced on 1st June 2008.
The tender process used the full suite of xchangewales - eTendering tools. The tender was issued on 8th February 2008 and an e-auction was undertaken on 30th April 2008. A weighted eAuction rather than price only, was undertaken to reflect not only the commercial element but also the quality scores achieved. Tenders were evaluated on the basis of most economically advantageous and based on a price/quality split of 60/40%.
The tender was split into regional lots to make it more accessible to SMEs. This resulted in SET, a Welsh business being awarded onto the framework agreement. SET is one of three suppliers available on the South Wales Lot of the framework being ranked third utilising the price and quality evaluation.
