Value Wales
The Welsh public sector is, overall, the largest user of services and goods from the private and voluntary sectors with an annual procurement expenditure of some £4.3 billion. To support the public sector in making the best use of its resources the Welsh Government established Value Wales to work alongside public sector bodies in Wales, in pursuit of efficiency and better value public services for our citizens. It does this by encouraging collaborative working, building capability, and securing procurement outcomes that support ‘well-being’ in Wales. Value Wales manages the Procurement workstream under the Efficiency and Innovation Programme. It also supports the Department of Business, Enterprise, Technology and Science in delivering procurement actions such as those under the Economic Renewal Programme and the National Procurement Website, Buy4Wales and Sell2Wales.co.uk.
The xchangewales programme is a major initiative for Value Wales, aiming to improve procurement efficiency in the Welsh public sector, increasing productivity and lowering the cost of doing business for both the public sector buyer and their suppliers.
