BravoSolution announces partnership with Welsh Assembly Government

5 Aug 2008

London – 5th August 2008BravoSolution (www.bravosolution.com), the international leader in Supply Management software and services, today announces a collaboration with Value Wales, the procurement arm of the Welsh Assembly Government, to deliver a key component of xchangewales for a minimum of four years.

The partnership is part of a transformation of procurement across the public sector in Wales that will see BravoSolution providing eSourcing solutions including eTendering, eEvaluation (provided by partner Commerce Decisions), Vendor Management and eContract Management through the xchangewales - eTendering web portal – www.etenderwales.bravosolution.com.

The xchangewales - eTendering tools allow buyers from central and local government, the NHS, emergency services and Higher and Further Education to conduct procurement exercises online directly with suppliers. Initially 200 buyers have been trained to procure online.

The xchangewales - eVendor Management module allows the Welsh Assembly Government to track and report on the diversity of their supply base, including suppliers within Wales and SMEs. Suppliers are further supported by the service, which decreases the amount of time and investment required to respond to tenders.

The budget for the collaboration was released after a successful trial of the BravoSolution service across the Welsh public sector identified key savings and demonstrated return on investment (ROI).

"The Welsh Assembly Government’s xchangewales programme shows Wales at its finest, using cutting edge technology to deliver the best value possible for the Welsh pound. We are creating a system that makes it easy for public sector buyers to source, order and pay online for goods and services." said Andrew Davies, Minister for Finance & Public Service Delivery.

"xchangewales has the potential to deliver an incredible £200 million over five years. These savings can be reinvested back into better citizen focused services."

Nader Sabbaghian, Managing Director of BravoSolution UK, adds: "We are very excited to have forged this relationship with the Welsh Assembly Government. We have achieved some fantastic results in the UK public sector, most noticeably by powering OGCbuying.solutions’ eSourcing service over the last three years, and we plan to repeat this success in Wales."

Robert Knapman, Head of eCommerce for OGCbuying.solutions commented, "The Welsh Assembly Government’s Value Wales team is a progressive force in public sector procurement, adopting a pilot for eSourcing two years ago, and then being one of the first to adopt the full suite, including Vendor and Contract Management across a diverse range of public sector organisations. They are also actively involved in looking at ways to collaborate and share best practice across the sector, educating colleagues on ways to succeed."
